How to make Herbo-Vit Cookies

I couldn't be more excited to share a little slice of my family's joy with you. You see, we have this incredible homemade biscuit recipe that's been a cherished favourite in our household for as long as I can remember.

Now, here's where the magic happens – we've taken our family favourite and given it a nutritious twist. We've swapped out regular sugar for the wonderful Herbo-vit, an alternative packed with more than 23 powerful herbs. Herbo-vit is all about boosting vitality and immunity.

It's a treat that's not just delicious but also good for you and suitable for everyone in the family, from the youngest to the wisest.

Indulge in this guilt-free treat, and make it your own!

Here's what you'll need:

  • ½ cup Ghee (clarified butter)
  • ½ cup Herbo-vit – you can adjust as per your taste, use less if  you prefer
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • ¼ tsp cardamom powder ( optional)
  • 3 tbsp milk, room temperature

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper or lightly grease it with ghee to prevent sticking.
  • Mix dry ingredients: In a mixing bowl, sift the whole wheat flour to remove any lumps. Add a pinch of salt, baking powder and baking soda. You can also add some cardamom powder if you like
  • Mix ghee and herbo vit : In separate bowl add ½ cup ghee ( room temperature) and add ½  cup Herbo vit powder. Mix well
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry flour mixture into the Ghee and Herbovit mix. Mix gently until you get a crumbly texture. If the mixture feels too dry and doesn't come together, add 1-3 tablespoons of milk to bind it. Do not knead, just combine to form a dough.
  • Shape the biscuits: Take small portions of the dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking tray, leaving some space between each for spreading. You can flatten them slightly with a fork if you like.
  • Bake: Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the biscuits turn golden brown around the edges.
  • Cool: Once baked, remove the biscuits from the oven and allow them to cool on a wire rack. They will become crisp as they cool down.

Best eaten warm with a side of Herbo-Vit infused milk.

Store them in an airtight container to maintain their freshness.

Savour and enjoy,
Rippan.
