Arishtas

Arishta’s are a category of fermented herbal liquid formulations that are used for therapeutic purposes. They are primarily herbal preparations made by fermenting herbal decoctions with raw sugar or jaggery. This fermentation process naturally produces ethanol, which acts as a preservative and enhances the medicinal properties of the herbs.

These Arishtas are potent and have the ability to reach the deep tissues quickly, enabling the elimination of deep seated toxins (amas). It’s recommended to seek advice from Ayurvedic practitioner before using these products.

Herbal Capsules

Our range of herbal supplements in capsule form are a synergy of purely ayurvedic herbs formulated by specialist, Dr. Ajit. These are often formulated using potent extracts. A growing range of these herbal capsules have been approved by Therapeutic Goods Australia (TGA). Find more about what they do here.

Why choose Ayurda's Herbal Capsules?

Ayurvedic products target the root cause of all illnesses, rather than just treating the symptoms of the ailment or disease.

Ayurvedic products will only be a combination of pure natural herbal and mineral ingredients, and never contain synthetic vitamins or other substances.

Ayurvedic products, while helping to dislodge toxins from deep within the body’s tissue, will also assist in the rejuvenation of that tissue.

Ayurvedic products can help to revive the intelligence of particular organs or tissues that have been affected by the buildup of toxins. Once all the toxins have been eliminated, one doesn’t need to keep taking these products.

Ayurvedic products are not supplements, but work to correct the imbalances affecting the inherent intelligence of the body’s organs, hence reviving the bodily system back to normal.

Ghritam

Ghritam (also spelled Ghrita) refers to medicated ghee or clarified butter that is infused with various medicinal herbs. It is a key preparation used in Ayurvedic treatments for its nourishing, rejuvenating, and healing properties. Ghritams are made by boiling ghee with herbal decoctions and powders until the water evaporates, leaving the medicinal properties of the herbs in the ghee.

Powdered Herbs

Ayurveda relies heavily on herbs for their medicinal properties, using them to balance the body's doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha) and treat a wide variety of conditions. In this category you’ll find authentic high quality dried, powdered herbs which can be used in various preparations like oils, teas, pastes, or churnas.

All of our herbs must be between 90-120 meshes to be effective. Higher mesh means that it has increased in its level of concentration, therefore the extracts and herbs are more effective.

Organic Powdered Herbs

Ayurda’s range of organic powdered herbs are derived from plants that are cultivated without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilisers. These herbs are grown and harvested following organic farming practices, which are believed to preserve their natural potency and purity, making them highly valued in Ayurvedic medicine. Certified by USDA Organic, One Cert, and India Organic.

Key features of our organic herbs

Organic herbs are free from harmful chemicals and contaminants, which ensures that they retain their natural medicinal properties without any adverse effects from synthetic chemicals. This purity is important in Ayurveda, where the quality of herbs directly impacts their therapeutic efficacy.

Organic farming practices are environmentally sustainable, supporting soil health, biodiversity, and the well-being of the ecosystem. Many Ayurvedic practitioners and consumers prefer organic herbs because they are aligned with the Ayurvedic principle of living in harmony with nature.

Organic powdered herbs are carefully harvested and processed to retain their active compounds. The drying and grinding processes used for organic herbs are typically done at low temperatures to ensure that the herbs' vital properties (like phytochemicals, enzymes, and essential oils) are preserved.

In Ayurveda, powdered herbs are used to balance the body's doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha). Organic herbs are believed to have enhanced energetics due to their purity and are thus more effective in correcting dosha imbalances.

Churnas

Churna is the Sanskrit word for powder. In Ayurveda, churna refers to a powdered mixture of one or more herbs that is used as a therapeutic remedy. Churnas are easily absorbed and provide an effective way to consume herbs either directly or by mixing them into water, honey, or ghee.

How to use Herbs & Churnas

Herbs and churnas are often consumed directly by mixing them with water, milk, honey, or ghee. For example, Ashwagandha powder is commonly mixed with warm milk and taken before bed for stress relief and rejuvenation. Seek tailored advice from your Ayurvedic practitioner.

Many organic powdered herbs are applied externally, often mixed with water, rose water, or oils. For example, Neem powder can be used as a face pack for acne and skin issues, while Turmeric powder is used for brightening the skin and treating wounds.

Organic powdered herbs are sometimes brewed into teas or decoctions. Brahmi and Tulsi powders, for example, can be brewed to make calming teas that support mental clarity and respiratory health.

Organic powdered herbs are also encapsulated for ease of use, allowing people to conveniently consume them as part of their daily routine. Our range of herbal supplements use a more potent extract of these powders.

Herbal Teas

Our Ayurvedic teas are formulated by Dr. Ajit in a raw, unprocessed form. Each of our teas are carefully hand-blended based on ancient Ayurvedic recipes that are truly good for you.

Our teas are caffeine-free and are made with real, sun-dried herbs that have a distinct taste and aroma that we refuse to hide beneath artificial flavours and additives.

Sip a cup of this herbal tea to begin your day or as a quick pick-me-up during a busy day, and savour a few moments of unadulterated bliss.

Jams

In Ayurveda, jams are herbal formulations made by cooking herbs, fruits, and other ingredients into a thick, sweet, and nourishing paste. These jams are used for their rejuvenating, strengthening, and therapeutic properties.

One of the most famous Ayurvedic jams is Chyawanprash, a potent herbal remedy known for its rejuvenative and immune-boosting benefits.

Due to the presence of natural preservatives like sugar, honey, and ghee, Ayurvedic jams have a long shelf life, making them easy to store and use over time.

Liquids

In this category you’ll find herbally medicated liquids such as syrups and medicated water.

Ayurvedic syrups or decoctions are prepared by boiling herbs in water to extract their active components. These are consumed in liquid form after being strained. Unlike fermented tonics, they do not contain alcohol.

Uses: Syrups are used for a variety of health issues, including coughs, colds, digestive disorders, and fever.

Arka refers to distilled medicinal water that contains the volatile essential oils of herbs. It is made by boiling herbs and condensing the steam into a distilled liquid.

Uses: Medicated waters are used for their cooling, cleansing, and healing properties, particularly for Pitta-related disorders

Oils

Oils for body care play a central role in Ayurveda, used both for therapeutic and wellness purposes. Known as Taila, these oils are infused with herbs and are applied topically through massage (known as Abhyanga) or other treatments to nourish the body, balance the doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha), and promote overall health.

Ayurvedic oils are not like aromatherapy oils as they are made through a very comprehensive process. Each oil takes at least 1-2 months to get to its final state after undergoing rigorous decoction at least 4-5 times.

What makes Ayurvedic oils unique?

Ayurvedic body oils are typically infused with herbs, each selected for its specific healing properties. These herbs are carefully chosen based on the individual's dosha or health condition. The oil serves as a carrier to deliver the therapeutic benefits of the herbs deep into the tissues (Dhatus).

The base oils, in particular cold-pressed Black Sesame oil are rich in nutrients and have their own inherent therapeutic properties. These oils nourish, protect, and moisturise the skin while also serving as a medium to carry the herbal extracts.

Ayurvedic oils are not only used for massage but also for treating specific ailments, such as joint pain, skin disorders, headaches, and stress-related conditions.

Different oils are used to balance the three doshas in Ayurveda:

Vata: Warm, grounding, and nourishing oils like sesame oil are used to pacify Vata dosha, which tends to be dry, cold, and erratic.

Pitta: Cooling, calming oils like coconut oil or sandalwood oil are ideal for balancing Pitta dosha, which is hot, fiery, and prone to inflammation.

Kapha: Stimulating and warming oils like mustard oil or herb-infused sesame oil are used to balance Kapha dosha, which is heavy, oily, and sluggish.
