What happens during Abhyanga?

This traditional ayurvedic massage focuses on unblocking marma points which are vital energy points that are located throughout the body, similar in concept to acupuncture points.

The primary aim of this massage is to promote the flow of energy in your body, flushing out toxins that accumulate due to the stress of everyday living, improper diet, negative emotions which can drain us both physically and mentally. This helps to optimise the function of various bodily systems.

Your experienced therapist will use warm medicated oil and specific strokes relevant to your body's constitution and any specific concerns you have.

For thousands of years massage therapy has been used as a powerful tool in the healing process. The simple gesture of touch has the ability to transform both mental and physical conditions, easing pain and restoring balance to the entire body.

This particular massage is focused on unblocking the marma (energy) points of your body. The primary aim of this massage is to flush out toxins that accumulate in our bodies due to the stress of everyday living, improper diet, negative emotions which can drain us both physically and mentally. Your experienced therapist will use warm medicated oil and specific strokes relevant to your body's constitution.

What are marma points?
Marma points are sensitive areas located throughout the body where life force energy (prana) is concentrated, similar in concept to acupuncture points. They are seen as gateways or junctions in the body's energy pathways (nadis). Stimulating these marma points serves multiple functions. They can be used for therapeutic purposes, such as relieving pain, promoting healing, improving energy flow, circulation, detoxification, and balancing doshas (Ayurvedic constitutional types) Marma point therapy is also used for a wide range of conditions, including pain management, stress relief, improving digestion, enhancing energy levels, promoting emotional balance, spiritual growth and self-awareness.

When issues begin to manifest in your body, they can then impact the marma points. Regular marma point massage can be instrumental in identifying and reducing any emerging stagnation in the body.

A perfect add on:
