Winter Asks For Restoration. Not More Effort

Restore your energy, calm your digestion and rebuild your resilience. Trusted by New Zealanders for over 30 years.

Ayurda Products

Winter asks more of the body than most people expect.

Not dramatically but quietly. The energy that used to return after a good night's sleep starts taking longer. Digestion feels heavier. The resilience you rely on day to day begins to thin.

This is not a sign that something is wrong. It is what this season does and it is something Ayurveda has understood for 5000 years.

This page brings together everything we know about supporting the body through winter: a free guide to begin with, formulations chosen specifically for this time of year, and treatments that restore what rest alone cannot reach.

Take what is useful. There is no pressure here.

Seven days to show you what your body is capable of when it is properly supported.

That is the idea behind the 7-Day Winter Energy Reset Guide.

Not a list of rules. Not a strict regime. A practical, day-by-day plan that gives your body one simple Ayurvedic practice each day and lets you feel the difference for yourself.

Because most people do not realise how much winter is costing them until they begin to restore it.

What winter does to your body

Winter is not just cold. It changes you from the inside.

Most of us respond to winter the same way - add a layer, turn up the heater, drink more coffee. We treat it as an external problem with external solutions.

Ayurveda sees something deeper. And it may surprise you.

Your body has a network of internal channels pathways that carry nutrients, energy and warmth throughout the system. In Ayurveda, these are called Srotas. When cold weather arrives, these channels naturally constrict to protect your core and preserve heat, much like your blood vessels contract in cold air.

Here is where it gets interesting.

As your outer channels pull inward, your digestive fire concentrates. In Ayurveda, this fire is called Agni, the force that drives how you digest food, produce energy, and recover from stress. In winter, Agni does not dim. It burns brighter.

So why do so many people feel depleted?

Because a strong fire needs the right fuel. Without warm, nourishing food and proper support, that intense internal heat begins to burn through your deepest reserves, what Ayurveda calls Ojas. Your vitality. Your buffer. The quiet resilience that keeps you well when everything else is under pressure.

When Ojas depletes without being replenished, the body's cold, dry, unsettled energy Vata begins to rise unchecked. Tissues dry out. The nervous system begins to fray. Energy drops. Recovery slows. Sleep becomes light.

That is not weakness. That is winter, doing what winter does when the body is left unsupported.
The answer is not more stimulation. It is warmth, nourishment, and specific support that feeds the fire without burning through what remains.

That is what the rest of this page is about.

your energy from within.

Ayurvedic healing traditions

Chosen by Dr. Ajit for one reason - they work.

Ayurda Products

Treatments are not a luxury. They are how winter recovery works.

In the Western world, massage is often seen as an indulgence something you treat yourself to only when time and budget allow.

Ayurveda sees it differently. And there is a profound reason why.

When warm, herb-infused oil is applied to the body with skilled, rhythmic pressure, something happens that supplements and sleep simply cannot replicate. Oil penetrates the skin at a deep cellular level, lubricating what the cold has contracted, softening what depletion has dried, and restoring circulation where winter has slowed it. The warmth itself is a therapeutic carrier.

The Language of Lineage: In Sanskrit, the word for oil is Sneha - the exact same word used for love. In the Ayurvedic tradition, that is not a coincidence. To saturate the body in warm oil is to saturate it in deep protection.

In winter, the body’s natural instinct is to contract. Muscles tighten. Joints stiffen. The nervous system holds onto an accumulated tension that it simply cannot release on its own. Therapeutic warm oil treatments do not fight the season; they work with it, softening, nourishing, and restoring at the exact physical depth your body needs most right now.

These treatments are not pampering. They are medicine. They have been for thousands of years.

Abhyanga - Full Body Massage

Abhyanga - Full Body Massage

$180 - $210 | 75 mins or 90mins

Traditional Ayurvedic therapeutic massage using warm, herb-infused oil. Applied in long, rhythmic strokes along the body's natural channels - supporting circulation, nourishing depleted tissues and calming a nervous system under sustained pressure. In winter specifically, Abhyanga restores what cold gradually takes. Not a relaxation massage. A restoration treatment.

Shirodhara - Warm Oil on the Forehead

Shirodhara - Warm Oil on the Forehead

$190.00 | 60 mins

A continuous, rhythmic stream of warm oil poured slowly across the forehead. One of Ayurveda's most powerful nervous system treatments. If you have been exhausted but unable to truly rest - if your mind keeps moving even when your body has stopped - this is the treatment Ayurveda designed for exactly that. Shirodhara quiets the nervous system at a depth that sleep alone rarely reaches. There is nothing else quite like it.

Shanti - Abhyanga + Shirodhara

Shanti - Abhyanga + Shirodhara

$340.00 | 2 hours

"Shanti is the Sanskrit word for peace. That is what this combination delivers." When your body needs restoration and your mind needs to stop - the Shanti Package addresses both in one session. Abhyanga works through the body. Shirodhara works through the nervous system. Together they are the complete winter recovery treatment.

Winter Reset Package

Your Guide to Abhyanga (Ayurvedic Self Massage)

Abhyanga is a traditional Ayurvedic practice of self-massage using warm oils that takes just 10 minutes and can be done at home. It helps combat the stress, fatigue, and physical tension of modern life by improving circulation, nourishing the nervous system, supporting detoxification, and promoting better sleep. Starting from the feet and working upward with firm, circular strokes using warmed oil (such as black sesame, almond, or jojoba), it's ideally practiced daily - morning or evening - and suits all ages and genders.
