What it is

A gentle everyday hair cleanser for women who want healthy, resilient hair without harsh foaming agents. Powered by time-tested Ayurvedic botanicals, it cleanses thoroughly yet respectfully, leaving hair feeling lighter, softer, and naturally glossy.

Who it is for

• Normal to slightly dry hair needing gentle daily care
• Women wanting a sulphate-free, botanical cleanser
• Hair that feels flat, tired, or weakened by chemical products
• Anyone seeking long-term hair health, not quick cosmetic fixes

Why it works

Many shampoos, even “natural” ones, still rely on strong foaming agents that can leave the scalp feeling disrupted over time. Kayakalp is built around a more Ayurvedic idea: hair thrives when the scalp stays steady. Bhringraj (traditionally revered in Ayurvedic hair care) supports stronger-feeling roots and long-term vitality. Shikakai and Soap Nut (Reetha) cleanse effectively while helping the scalp feel comfortable rather than “too bare” after rinsing. Hibiscus and a touch of Coconut Oil support softness and shine, so your hair feels clean and alive - not coated.

Key Benefits

• Gentle cleansing without sulphates or harsh detergents
• Roots feel stronger and hair feels more resilient over time
• Reduces dullness and helps restore natural shine
• Hair feels clean without dryness or frizz
• Scalp feels balanced and comfortable, not tight or irritated

How to Use

Massage a small amount into wet hair and scalp, working into a light lather. Rinse thoroughly. Repeat if needed. Gentle enough for daily use.

For best results, pair this with a weekly Ayurda Grow & Repair Hair Oil ritual - massage into the scalp, leave for 30–60 minutes (or overnight if you prefer), then wash your hair. It’s the simplest way to support stronger roots and healthier-looking hair over time.

Ingredient Spotlight

Bhringraj - In Ayurveda, Bhringraj is one of the most revered botanicals for hair care - not as a “quick fix,” but as steady support for scalp vitality and stronger-feeling roots over time. It’s the kind of ingredient that earns trust through consistency.

Shikakai - A classic Indian hair cleanser used for generations because it cleans without that stripped feeling. It’s valued for leaving hair feeling lighter and the scalp more comfortable, especially for people who don’t do well with harsh detergents.

Soap Nut (Reetha) - Naturally cleansing and traditionally used to wash hair while keeping the finish soft. It helps create a clean feel without the harsh aftermath some shampoos leave behind.

Hibiscus + Coconut Oil - Hibiscus is traditionally used to support softness and shine, while Coconut Oil adds gentle nourishment so hair feels conditioned, not rough, after washing.

The story behind this

Modern haircare often treats the scalp like something to scrub and reset, as if “clean” must mean squeaky. Ayurveda takes a different view. When cleansing is too harsh, the scalp often compensates, and over time, hair can start to feel drier, flatter, or less resilient at the roots. Kayakalp was made to bring cleansing back to balance: remove what you don’t need, keep what keeps you well.

In traditional routines, botanicals like Bhringraj, Shikakai, and Soap Nut weren’t used to create dramatic, temporary hair; they were used to create the conditions where healthy hair could keep thriving. The promise here isn’t instant drama. It’s a simpler, more respectful routine that helps hair feel stronger, shinier, and more alive wash after wash.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Ayurveda is the ancient healthcare system of India. It is a Sanskrit word - Ayur means 'life' or 'daily living' and Veda means 'science'. Ayurveda then is the name given to the scientific study of life, based on the eternal principle that everyone should live in a healthy & balanced state.

The ingredients used in Ayurda products are 'Wild Crafted' in the Himalayas. A harvesting technique is used where the fruit or plant part is gathered from its natural wild habitat and handpicked according to ancient techniques.

Wild Crafted is usually organic but not certified, normally because there is no certifying agency in the area where it is grown. Wild Crafted herbs are grown wild, without the use of fertilizers or pesticides. They are grown naturally in areas where the plants are native to the region.

Yes. Ayurda products are manufactured in GMP (Goods and Manufacturing Practice) registered companies. This is an internationally recognized standard for quality assurance and ethical production. These established companies (one hundred years old) are leaders in the field of Ayurveda with highly trained Ayurvedic doctors and pharmacologists working hard to produce high quality, result orientated products. We have used Palm kernel oil in some of our products which is sourced from sustainable and ethical plantations. No animal habitat is disturbed or harmed.

Yes. Ayurda products are made in India and the natural ingredients remain stable in any natural environment.

Yes! we understand emulsifiers are needed but we only use the best and the safest. To make a cream or lotion, it is necessary to use an Emulsifier. The best ones are derived from coconut or palm kernel oil. They are safe to work with and are even used in the food industry, often used as emulsifiers in the production of vegan ice creams. Unfortunately for vegans and vegetarians, most commercially used Emulsifiers which are not vegetable based are produced from pig fats, which will be absorbed from these cosmetics. Our palm kernel oils are ethically sourced and come from sustainable or fair trade plantations and no animal habitat has been harmed.

No. We use Areetha, Shikakai and the Indian Soap Nut as natural foaming agents.

Toners are an important part of your skin care regime. They help to balance the skin and also work as a transporter for whatever is applied over the top e.g. your moisturiser will be able to penetrate the superficial layer of the skin and work at a deeper level. Ayurda toners contain natural fragrances of flower and herb extracts that help calm the nerves and induce relaxation. They are easy to use and are applied in a spray mist.

When using products containing essential oils, reactivity is more likely to happen as the essences are concentrated. With Ayurda, there are no extracted essences. Instead the raw herbs are used in the production process so they are not as volatile and the skin absorbs them more gently and less reactively.

Ayurda products contain natural preservatives such as oils, beeswax, carrot seed extract and grapefruit seed extract.

Yes. The range has been developed by Dr.Ajit and Rippan Sandhu. Ayurda is the only Ayurvedic range in Australasia backed by a qualified Ayurvedic Doctor.
