What it is

Ayurda Rose Water is exactly what rose water should be. Pure and uncomplicated. It is distilled from fresh Rosa centifolia petals, the traditional Desi Gulab also known in Ayurveda as Shatpatri. Nothing is added. No alcohol, no fragrance, and no preservatives.

Only the gentle cooling essence of the rose is captured through steam distillation. Because it is food grade, the same purity that touches your skin can also be enjoyed in drinks and recipes.

Why it works

Flushed skin. Tired eyes. A mind that won't quiet down.

In Ayurveda, these are signs of excess heat, and rose has been one of its oldest remedies for exactly this. Rosa centifolia is cooling and balancing by nature. Rose water distilled from its petals refreshes, hydrates, and brings the body back to a calmer state without heaviness, without effort. Even its scent does quiet work. The gentle floral aroma settles the senses, making this one of the simplest ways to restore balance mid-day or at the end of a long one.

Who it is for

• Eyes that feel strained after long hours on screens.
• Anyone wanting a gentle, alcohol-free toner with nothing unnecessary in it.
• Men looking for a soothing after-shave that won't sting.

• Home cooks and herbal enthusiasts who value food-grade botanical ingredients.
• Suitable for all skin types - rose water is considered tridoshic in Ayurveda, balancing for Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.

The story behind this

There is a shelf in many South Asian homes, sometimes in the bathroom, sometimes in the kitchen, sometimes both, where a small bottle of rose water has always lived. No label needed. Everyone knew what it was for. A grandmother pressing a cotton pad soaked in chilled rose water over a grandchild's eyes after a long afternoon in the sun. A mother stirring a splash into cold lassi before a meal. A quick mist across the face before stepping back into a crowded room. Rose water was never one thing. It moved quietly between rooms, between people, between uses without fuss or ceremony. That is the tradition this bottle carries. Rosa centifolia, the Desi Gulab. Steam distilled. Nothing added.Ready for whatever small moment of calm you need it for, whether that's your skin, your senses, or your kitchen.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Ayurveda is the ancient healthcare system of India. It is a Sanskrit word - Ayur means 'life' or 'daily living' and Veda means 'science'. Ayurveda then is the name given to the scientific study of life, based on the eternal principle that everyone should live in a healthy & balanced state.

The ingredients used in Ayurda products are 'Wild Crafted' in the Himalayas. A harvesting technique is used where the fruit or plant part is gathered from its natural wild habitat and handpicked according to ancient techniques.

Wild Crafted is usually organic but not certified, normally because there is no certifying agency in the area where it is grown. Wild Crafted herbs are grown wild, without the use of fertilizers or pesticides. They are grown naturally in areas where the plants are native to the region.

Yes. Ayurda products are manufactured in GMP (Goods and Manufacturing Practice) registered companies. This is an internationally recognized standard for quality assurance and ethical production. These established companies (one hundred years old) are leaders in the field of Ayurveda with highly trained Ayurvedic doctors and pharmacologists working hard to produce high quality, result orientated products. We have used Palm kernel oil in some of our products which is sourced from sustainable and ethical plantations. No animal habitat is disturbed or harmed.

Yes. Ayurda products are made in India and the natural ingredients remain stable in any natural environment.

Yes! we understand emulsifiers are needed but we only use the best and the safest. To make a cream or lotion, it is necessary to use an Emulsifier. The best ones are derived from coconut or palm kernel oil. They are safe to work with and are even used in the food industry, often used as emulsifiers in the production of vegan ice creams. Unfortunately for vegans and vegetarians, most commercially used Emulsifiers which are not vegetable based are produced from pig fats, which will be absorbed from these cosmetics. Our palm kernel oils are ethically sourced and come from sustainable or fair trade plantations and no animal habitat has been harmed.

No. We use Areetha, Shikakai and the Indian Soap Nut as natural foaming agents.

Toners are an important part of your skin care regime. They help to balance the skin and also work as a transporter for whatever is applied over the top e.g. your moisturiser will be able to penetrate the superficial layer of the skin and work at a deeper level. Ayurda toners contain natural fragrances of flower and herb extracts that help calm the nerves and induce relaxation. They are easy to use and are applied in a spray mist.

When using products containing essential oils, reactivity is more likely to happen as the essences are concentrated. With Ayurda, there are no extracted essences. Instead the raw herbs are used in the production process so they are not as volatile and the skin absorbs them more gently and less reactively.

Ayurda products contain natural preservatives such as oils, beeswax, carrot seed extract and grapefruit seed extract.

Yes. The range has been developed by Dr.Ajit and Rippan Sandhu. Ayurda is the only Ayurvedic range in Australasia backed by a qualified Ayurvedic Doctor.

The shelf life is 12 months after opening, but can last anywhere up to 24 months.
